In 2011, Amy started the blog Vodka Cranberry Clooney to shine light on dark subjects, make people laugh and - sometimes - cry. More than anything, she started it so others might not feel so alone. She discontinued the blog in 2016. |

About Amy Amy began her career in 1997 at The Times, a Gannett newspaper in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she was an award-winning features writer and named Outstanding Writer in 2001. In 2003, Amy moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and worked at Southern Living, one of the country’s most popular lifestyle magazines, until 2010. Amy was the editor of six Southern Living Special Editions, and often contributed to the magazine’s back page column, Southern Journal. Several of her essays are featured in Southern Living Heirloom Recipe Cookbook and Southern Living Comfort Food. Her work has also appeared in HGTV Magazine and Coastal Living. Amy was named Director of Communications at Birmingham-Southern College in 2019. The publication of Amy's debut memoir The Geography of You and Me: A Memoir was funded through an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign. Amy spoke about coping with trauma and grief at TEDxBirmingham 2016. |
